Following "Little Jaguar", their first release on the imprint, "Look at Me" heads into a more immediate Indie Dance direction. A prominent bassline carries the track, while the vocals bring a clear 70s disco influence without pushing it too far into retro territory. There is a loose, almost playful quality to the production, but the track stays very much focused on the floor. The vocal hooks, bass movement and slightly off-centre details give it a character of its own, with the whole thing geared towards movement rather than big dramatic moments. Together with HeAndMe, Read the News deliver a party record that feels direct, distinctive and hard to stand still to, while continuing the broadening sound of RaRaLand after "Little Jaguar", "Shivers" and "Strawberry". ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >> Yalla Bye!
